Last few days the partners from our project spent in beautiful Istanbul. The meeting was held by our Turkish friends from OSTIM Technical University. We discussed progress of all work packages, among other training and mentoring programme as well as results of micro-projects competitions.  Plans for the last phase of our project also were discussed.

The meeting was also a great occasion to get to know Turkish culture. Our hosts organised an insightful trip around the city. The great experience was to visit Basilica Cistern, built in the 6th century. The enlarged cistern provided a water filtration system for the Great Palace of Constantinople and other buildings on the First Hill, and continued to provide water to the Topkapı Palace after the Ottoman conquest in 1453 and into modern times. Today this amazing structure is reused  as tourists attraction.

Going back home we could see another great example of circular economy at the Istanbul airport, where we visited an "0" Zero Point Exhibition made by artist Deniz Sağdıç, who transformed the waste separated by the Istanbul Airport Waste Management Center into artworks. With this project, the artist invites the audience to rethink the concept of "consumption". Thank you OSTIM for providing such a fruitful time!
