Training: zero-waste plasma gasification as an innovative technology of circular economy

Among the biggest problems of today's world we can mention excessive waste generation and the energy crisis. The solution to both problems can be supported by emission-free technology of waste-free plasma gasification. It involves the processing of waste (e.g. municipal, industrial, including hazardous waste, sewage sludge) at a temperature above 1300 Celcius degrees into synthesis gas for the production of electricity and hydrogen.

On October 25, 2022 in Brzeg, employees, PhD students and AGH UST students had the opportunity to learn about the theoretical foundations of such a technology, as well as see a functioning installation in which sewage sludge is processed into synthesis gas. The presentation was made by Tomasz Tomczyk from the Eko Tree company.

The benefits of using plasma technologies include:
 circular waste management, thus saving resources,
 reduction of waste stored in landfills,
 reduction of waste storage costs,
 energy or hydrogen source.
